1990 Roeper Constitution
A description of the operating principles called for by the Philosophy
Original Publication Date: March 1, 1990
In the early 1990s, the school settled into steady leadership after a rapid series of Headship changes. As part of the process of settling back onto a steady course, the school looked back to the 1981 Philosophy written by George and Annemarie. A Board committee crafted its first summary of that lengthy document as a way to clarify the governing and operating principles that would be necessary to implement the Philosophy. The committee called the document the Roeper Constitution, to distinguish it from a statement of the Philosophy. The document consists of two parts: a summary of the Philosophy and a statement of operating principles.
